Fix-It-Fast...

As you may have guessed from my site; I'm very open about the way I work, what I do and the services I offer.

If you're a client; I'll always do my very best to get the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible. But if you want to help me out and ensure that your job gets done as quick as possible; here are the tricks (I think you'll find they work with all gas fitters and plumbers)...

 

• Dogs are great; but when working at low level and all they want to do is lick and sniff it kind of slows things down, so if possible; lock them away on my arrival.
   
• We all love our homes; but remember; your home is my workplace; so clearing a path to the boiler and airing cupboard can save some valuable time. Anything I move; I'll put back... But I have had cases where I have had to move endless amounts of items just to see the boiler; let alone work on it.
   
• Smokers beware; your home is my workplace and you are not legally allowed to smoke in the same room as where I'm working. It's a stupid law I know; but I do sometimes have trainee's and CORGI inspectors with me.
   
• Identifying an intermittant fault can be tiresome; unless the symptoms occur when I am on site; so; if you have an intermittant fault; create a diary detailing any fault codes and the regularity of the problem; an example is here and a blank version can be printed off here.
   
• Kids - Well; I'm a non-parent... I love kids; but sometimes the questioning can be kind of awkward; especially when I have wires and components stripped down into what only looks like a billion pieces from a spectators view, so get them some entertainment like a DVD for my visit.
   
• If it's dark when I visit; please ensure you have a porch light or something to illuminate your door number... It's embarrasing for me and very annoying for your neighbours if I awake them in the middle of the night in mistake.
   
• I try not to carry ladders too much as they have a habbit of getting stolen from the roofs of my car and van; so if I specifically need ladders (Ie; you have no loft ladder and everything is in the loft) then do let me know before I arrive.
