When a central heating system starts to become dirty; components will start to fail (Like pumps & motorised valves), radiators will start to block and stop working properly (Usually cold at the bottom and warm at the top) and you're fuel bills will go up.

There are a couple of ways to clean your system when it does start to become corroded and dirty; the most effective and commonly recommended in the industry is a PowerFlush.

Using the latest in flushing technology I can not only clean your system, but also guarantee that it won't need doing again within 5 years.

The process usually takes about a day, but depends on the size of the system and of course, how badly corroded and blocked the system has become.

Recomendations

When it's time to undertake a powerflush; I strongly advise you consider the following; as a powerflush is incredibly intrusive to your property; this is a great opportunity for:

• Installing TRV's (From £20ea)
• Exchanging a partially blocked pump (From £70)
• A header tank desludge, clean and inspection (From £40)
• Minor pipework alterations & improvements

 

Powerflushing Restrictions

Pipework known as MicroBORE does not flush well and cannot be guaranteed; plus you should expect to receive a quote for almost double the amount of labour due to the technicalities involved with the manifolds associated with MicroBORE.

Combi boilers cannot be powerflushed, the system will be disconnected from the boiler and flushed on it's own - This can be a hot or cold flush depending on budget and gurantee's will vary with certain combination boiler setups.

I only offer powerflusing during weekends, on most occaisions I will also have a second pair of hands present as well.
