Handling an emergency...

Ok, stay calm - You'll only make a bad situation worse if you panic.

- Smell Gas?
Turn your gas meter off at the handle, open your windows (and doors if required), do not operate any switches - Including light bulbs and call the gas emergency service, free on 0800 111 999

- Major Water Leak?
Turn your mains stop cock off (Either inside your property somewhere or outside on the public footpath where your drive/pathway is)... Depending on the cause of the leak and the size of it - It could take a few hours for the water to stop; so get some towels and buckets ready, then, call yourself a plumber.

Can't find your stop-cock? Your water supply company should be able to tell you where it is over the phone.
